Friday afternoon I was with some Japanese friends of mine and we went to Nambu-Tei Limited (New Haunt) situated in a small shopping centre next to Baker St station. Not the most glamorous of locations, but the sashimi was so good that it didn't seem to matter.
Lunch was then followed by a quick coffee stop at Sensory Lab (New Haunt and soon to be Regular Haunt) on Wigmore St, this place is by the same people behind St. Ali in Clerkenwell. Really good Baristas making one of the best coffees I have had in a while!
Early evening was met by a swift G&T in the Masons Arms (Old Haunt) Maddox St with my wife, then onto Goodman's (New Haunt) Maddox St to meet friends and "Eat Meat"
This place has been on the radar for a while and it was as good as I had hoped...... The Rib Eye was good, Truffle Chips were amazing, although I was a little let down by the Whiskey Sour but it didn't stop me having a second one. We left there with wallets a little lighter and about a stone heavier in weight.
Saturday afternoon I was working with my retoucher in Clerkenwell on some last minute deadlines but on the way there I managed to get in a quick visit to Darkroom (Old Haunt) on Lambs Conduit St. Once work was done we walked in towards Soho taking in a couple of Samuel Smiths pubs along the way. Cittie of Yorke (New Haunt) Chancery Lane and The Princess Louise (Old Haunt) Holborn. Both have the most amazing interiors!
From here we made our way to Spuntino (Old & Favourite Haunt) to drink some Meantime IPA's and eat some of the best pork sliders ever! I love this place, I wouldn't normally enjoy waiting an hour for a seat but at this place it never seems to be a chore.
Sunday mornings are never welcomed by little sleep and too much to drink the night before, but yes, I was up and back in Central London for the Margaret Howell Show for LFW at their Wigmore St HQ. Another season of great simplicity with no need for any quirky sillyness. A big shout to the team back stage..... Alison Elwin..... Neil Moodie..... Sam Bryant..... and all the girls.
After the madness a lengthly 2 hour breakfast at Dean St Townhouse (Old Haunt) was on the cards. This is another place I like to go to get out of the craziness of Soho and kill some time, usually with a whiskey sour.
The rest of the day was spent shopping in Libery, Poste and Margaret Howell..... The shop was back functioning like nothing had ever happened. All followed by a coffee at Sensory Lab (Now a regular Haunt)
